After receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis a year ago, Marg spent the last year of her life in relative comfort and good health surrounded by her loving family. Born in Shelburne, Ontario, Marg was the youngest of six children to the late Dirk (1996) and Tryntje (Kwantes) (1965) Visser. She was married to the love of her life Hank for 56 years and is the cherished mother of Ken (Rhea), Tim (Andrea), Teresa (Dale), and Kerri (Mike) Postma. She was the much-loved Nana to Emily (Braydon), Aaron (Kate), Eli, Owen, Olivia, Anna, Riley, Ethan, Jackson, Katrina, Lauren, Cameron and Avery. Marg is predeceased by all her siblings (Clarence, Peter, Lloyd, Jeanette, and Wilma) and her sister-in-law Alice Visser (Lloyd), nephews Gary and Ken Visser, and nieces Christine Opavsky and Julie Visser. She is also predeceased by her stepmother Sophia van der Meer (Visser) (2005). Marg is survived by two sisters-in-law, Alice (Peter) Visser and Audrey (Clarence) Bisschop-Visser, many nieces and nephews, and all of her step-siblings: John (Nellie), Jim (Susan), Rachel (Bruce), Edith (Bert), Audrey (Doug), Ivan (Lisa), Edwina (Paul) and their families. Her life revolved, first and foremost, around her faith in God. She absolutely treasured her family, and her caring nature shone through over twenty years nursing (RPN) in London and Ingersoll hospitals. In her later years, she made hundreds of picture albums from donated greeting cards which were then placed in Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. Each box shared the gospel message. Visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street East in Orillia on Thursday July 27th, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday July 28th 2023 from 12 p.m. until the time of the service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. A reception and time of fellowship will follow. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Orillia Christian School or to Operation Christmas Child (links are available on the funeral home website) Messages of condolence are welcomed at www.simcoefuneralhome.ca
