Obituary of Ernie Shilling

Shilling, Earnest Lambert Passed away peacefully at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on Thursday September 28th, 2023rd at the age of 83. Ernie had a career in construction as a Mason and a Carpenter. He and his brothers worked together for many years contracting homes and buildings around Rama and Orillia. His later career was spent working in the warehouse of Casino Rama until his retirement. He loved watching the Blue Jays and was a passionate reader of news and magazines. He was especially interested in crime columnists and novels. Born in Rama, dear son of the late Alder and Greta Shilling. Loving father of Robert Snache (Mariflor Tardecilla), Mike Nicols (Cheryl Davis Craig), Jason Snache, and James Snache. Proud grandfather of Gaby and Marcus. Predeceased by his siblings Gerald, Elsinore, Margaret, Zandra, Larry, Garry, Margaret, Wilda and Roger. Ernie will be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A private family visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St E. Orillia on Monday, October 2nd 2023 at 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A public celebration of life will be held at a later date.
