Leonard Shular

Obituary of Leonard James Shular

Shular, Leonard James It is with tremendous sadness we announce the sudden passing of our father Leonard James Shular at the age of 69. Leonard passed away unexpectedly at his home Wednesday December 13th , 2023. Lenny leaves behind a ridiculous number of model cars as well as his three amazing children, Matthew (Matthew Gregorini), Donna (Joshua Hawkins), and Deanne (Benjamin Petten). His six even more amazing grandchildren Charlotte, Max, Robbie, Rowan, Sullivan, and Ozzy. Loved dearly by his partner and best friend, Patricia Patten. Deeply missed by his siblings Thomas Shular and Barbara (Dave) McFarlane. Predeceased by his parents George and Marguerite Shular. Lenny, who was a long-time member of the Back Alley Cruisers, loved driving his Captain Orange truck, his Thunderbird, or his motorcycle with his music loud and his vehicles even louder. Lenny was a true jack of all trades and was loved for his quick wit, fantastic sense of humour, and his passion for building model cars (seriously, so many model cars). He had an impressive artistic ability for carpentry and drawing; this man could seriously do anything! After giving up all hope of ever seeing his beloved Leafs win the Stanley Cup, Lenny will be cruising off into the sunset with his AC/DC blaring and an ice cold ginger ale in hand. “Ciao for now.” A celebration of life will be held on February 9th , 2024 on what would have been his 70th birthday. More details to follow. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Hospital for Sick Children through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E., Orillia (705) 327 0221.
