Cecil was born in Atherley at his family farm predeceased by his parents George and Mary Byers. He met and married his beloved wife Caryl (nee Benner) at West Street Bible Chapel. They have been happily married for 66 years. Cecil is the proud father of the Donna Byers - predeceased, Nancy and Ian Baldock, Janet Speerin, Sheila and Jim Billett, David Byers-predeceased and Marilyn Byers. Loving grandfather to Vicki and Shawna of Victoria B.C, Laura of Calgary, Tyler (Christie), Emma (Struan), Danny and Aaron (Ashley) all of Orillia. Great grandfather to Kingston, Brock, Ellie, Harper and Millie. Dear brother of Elmer Byers and Allan Byers-both predeceased. Cecil will be lovingly remembered by many family and friends. Cecil loved to tell a good story or joke, chase trains and work with his backhoe. He was a member of the Ramara Historical Society, and other clubs he used to love to go to which include Udney Historical Society, Grammaphone club, CN pensioners, Ramara Seniors and he participated in the Bowling League. He was faithful in his church attendance at Hillside Bible Chapel. Visitation will be held at the Simcoe funeral home, 38 James Street on Tuesday June 18th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. He lived a good life and to celebrate his life the funeral service will be held on his birthday Wednesday June 19th, 2024 at 1:00 pm.
