Rest Easy Earl. Since I didn't really know my biological grandfathers you were the closest I had. Many times we visited your house and you always had chocolate bars and pop in the fridge. I love Halloween and chocolate so I was happy as a kid about that. I always liked you Earl and you were always good to us. Many Christmas's you and grandma celebrated with us, just like family. Yor had a good job as a truck diver and I think that's cool. Rest Easy Earl. Sherri-Lyn

Earl you were my very first friend in this world. When I was a little girl we would talk through the fence and you would listen to me ramble on and on for hours. You always made me feel like I was important in this world. You encouraged me to live boldly and unapologetically, and everyday I hope I can make you proud. I’ve been trying to locate you for the last three years so I could send you my letter, and I’m sorry I wasn’t able to find you. Thank-you for being my first and favourite friend. -Makinna

Earl, our beloved neighbour. I’m so glad we had our time with you. Your name has been spoken often around our table and I’m forever grateful for the countless hours you spent listening to the little girl who would talk your ear off. You’ll never know how much you meant to us. Rest in peace dear sir. All our love, The Givens family
