Obituary of Stuart Cobbe

Cobbe: Stuart David (Stu) Peacefully at his home Orillia with family at his side on Friday August 2nd, 2013, after a battle lost to Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and Lung Cancer. Much loved husband, best friend and companion of Sandy (nee Camin). Beloved Dad of Russ (Carol), Ian, and Amber (Jeff). Special Granddad to Meghan, Nathan, Jordan, Owen, Lauren and Haven. Son of the late David and Ada Patricia. Dear brother of Derek and Ivan in Ireland. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins in Ireland and England. Stuart was the original Branch Manager of the former Municipal Trust (now National Bank). He was subsequently the owner of Retirement Counsel of Canada and in semi-retirement a Branch Manager with Investment Planning Counsel of Canada in Orillia. Stuart served on the original Orillia Downtown Management Board and was also its second Chairman. He also served on the Provincial steering committee for the formation of the Business Improvement Areas Association in Ontario. A Lion since 1974 and a Past President of the Orillia Club. Stuart also served as a Commissioner of the Orillia Water, Light and Power Commission., the forerunner to Orillia Power. He was a Past Director and Treasurer of Couchiching Golf and Country Club. He was also a former member of the Orillia Curling Club. Special thanks to Dr. Mojgan Taremi, Southlake Cancer Center for believing; Dr. Greg Armstrong; Nurse Practioner Emily Grebe for such compassion and care and to Nurse Amanda and nurse Chantelle of Bayshore, for the constant encouraging visitations. To those who knew him, it can be said; He enjoyed his life and had Phun. Cremation has taken place.
