To John,Paula and Family
I just wanted you to know how sorry I was to hear of the passing of “Chicken”
He was one of a kind and you felt he would go on for ever! Played hockey with him in late 60s and although he was quite a bitolder he set an example that we all looked up to!
I enjoyed stoping and seeing him in the store and he always had words of wisdom

Cannot believe 'the Old Guy' is gone. His words, many times to me. Always welcomed me into the market and made jokes. One time I went in and Mr. Moon was there, and I loved that old guy too, so I said, 'Mr. Moon!' So happy to see him, and Mr. Johnston said, 'Waddya mean Mr. Moon? What am I, chopped liver?' He did not suffer fools gladly and I heard him a few times speak up to the 'sorters' of his produce... Yes, he called us all 'kid' and made us feel young by doing so. Obviously his family has suffered a great loss, but may find comfort in knowing that he was indeed loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. I can just hear him talking to Mr. Moon up there...two of my favourite people ever...91 years old...not nearly enough time to teach us 'kids' some life lessons and tell us his stories. Rest in Peace, Mr. Johnson.

Deepest Sympathies to the Johnson Family at this very sad time.
I met Jim at Ontario Produce in Bradford when he would come
and buy his supply of carrots & onions for his fruit market.
He was a very much loved customer.
RIP JIM (Chickens)

I shall greatly miss Jim. He was a bright, vibrant personality right up to the last time I saw him, when he still called me "kid" and shared a chuckle even though he was obviously not well. My dog and I visited him regularly, not just for veggies but for pats and treats for Auzie and the warm welcome he always gave us. Jim has touched the lives of many and will be long remembered.

Condolences to the Johnson family. Jimmy will be deeply missed in Midland. I enjoyed chatting with him at his farm market. He always had great produce available at fair prices and each conversation ended with “take it easy kid”. Rest in Peace, Jim.

Our deepest condolences to an amazing person. He was always welcoming when we came in “Hey Kid”. He always had our vegetable plants that we could never find anywhere. Rest In Paradise “Chickens” Jim. Your fruit stand was always welcoming and will never be the same.

We are very sorry to learn of Mr. Johnson’s passing. He was a valuable community member and a friendly face in his country store. Loved hearing his stories about his family owning the local dance hall and his time attending the old one-room school on Evergreen S.R. He is missed.

We are very sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Johnson. I used to love running into him at Johnson's fruit market. He and my father went to school together and he often had a story or two to share while he worked around the store. He will be missed.
