Taking My Harley To Heaven
(song lyrics / first draft)
I’m taking my Harley to heaven. You can’t say they won’t welcome it there. I’ll ride a long Highway; green fields goin my way ;The river wind warm and wild in my hair.
It’ll feel like the first time. I’ll forget this (the worst time). I’ll collect all that IS.. mine. then kiss them all in a long line
some are happy for me some share red or a sad wine
What I can’t wait to see on the journey. Are the smiles of the ones I’ve known well. And I can feel ‘that family love’ once again,
as it free
sus?
(as it frees us)
Such a party we’ll have .. loud laughter and dance. Then the best will be having breakfast with Jesus.
The last missing Watling from South Napan road
Born younger than the youngest left to carry the load.
Of a proud ageing story of a huge, loving family.
A symbol of Brothers from the hood.
A Maritime family that gave us all stories, like no other family could.
And the last reaches out like a crane through the clouds.
And hopes that it’s all been a dream. That his sisters are waiting. The whole family anticipating. His return to the Miramichi.
Ya I’m taking my Harley to heaven. You can’t say they won’t love that it’s there. I’ll ride a summer Highway, green-fields goin’ my way . The river wind warm and wild in my hair.
It’ll feel like the first time. I’ll forget this (the worst time). I’ll collect all that IS.. mine. then kiss them all in a LONG line
some are happy for me some share red or a SAD wine.
what I can’t wait to see on the journey. Are the smiles of the ones I’ve known well. And I can feel “THAT family LOVE”, once again, as it free
sus?
Such a party we’ll have .. loud laughter and dance. Then the best will be having breakfast with Jesus.

We first met Ken, many many years ago. Our dog Kona (a siberian husky), stole the steak off of Ken's BBQ. Ken followed Kona to our cottage. Finding out that my dad also drove a Harley was the start of their friendship and our friendship with the Watlings. When my parents and Ken and Shirley drove down to florida with their bike's in tow, they stayed in the hotels and brought their Harley's into the room for safe keeping. LOL. Some people may think that is odd but any Harley rider would say, "Ya, so what is so odd about that." Every Saturday you know where you would find Ken, sitting in our Muskoka chair on the right with my dad sitting on the left at our cottage, drinking a coffee and planning out their ride. They were great riding partners and always watched out for each other. My mom and Shirley never worried about the two of them taking off for the day. They always had each other's back. You lived a great life Ken, even us young ones had a hard time keeping up with you. RIP Ken, our dear family friend. Love Maureen

Shirley and family,
We are saddened by your loss. Ken was a delightful and wonderful man. I always remember our friendly chats at the Bayou Park family picnic and especially when he broke away from winning at horse shoes. Also, a good neighbor for my parents (Margaret and Bruce Lysnes) for many years. May he rest in peace and be remembered by all who knew him well.
Our deepest sympathy, John Lysnes and family (Cathy, Claire (Andrew), Victoria and Simon).
