Bonnie Rose

Obituary of Bonnie Johann Rose

Bonnie Johann Rose 1950 – 2024 Bonnie passed away on November 10, 2024 after a brief illness. Daughter of Muriel and Warren, Sister of Gary (Kim) and Steve, Aunt of Cole (Alexia), Great Aunt of Liam, and Cousin of Gail (Don). She was also fortunate to have an extended family in her Karis Disability Services home (04) in Orillia where she quickly endeared herself to all she met. Bonnie was a great source of joy in the home and where ever she went. She had a reputation for being kind, gentle and funny. She showed grace to her staff and her housemates and was a good example of always being a lady. An avid horsewoman, Bonnie thought nothing of grabbing Blueberry and giving him a big kiss! She had a special relationship with her four-legged fur relatives, helping to feed them ‘pebbles’, giving tight hugs, and plentiful kisses. When outside, Bonnie liked to help garden, pick up sticks, and was an excellent wood stacker. Inside, she felt much joy assisting in any way that she could. Socks weren’t always ‘matched’, nor the correct amount of cutlery put on the table, but she took much pride in being the best helper! Bonnie like to be fit whether through walking the track, riding the stationary bike, participating in aquafit, or Special Olympics bowling in Bracebridge. Quick to pick up a tune, she loved to sing both county, and gospel music. Doing her beads or working on jig saw puzzles provided a quiet time for her to be creative. Bonnie loved to talk and was always up for a road trip, shopping, lunch out, or a cup of tea. Her recent holiday trip to “Vegas” was the highlight of her time at 04. Family was important to Bonnie. She enjoyed going to the ‘cottage’, watching the Maple Leafs with her brothers (with popcorn, of course!), being up in the sewing room with Kim, and hearing stories about Liam. A huge smile was on her face each time she saw Cole and Alexia. Being able to be connected with family via FaceTime was one of her recent accomplishments. Thank you to the staff at Karis Disability Services (Orillia 04, and M-1 Bracebridge), Community Living South Muskoka, Bayshore HealthCare, and Nurse Practitioners, Heather and Joanne. We “don’t not know” what Bonnie would have done without you. If so desired, in memory of Bonnie, please perform a random act of kindness. “Good night, John Boy”
