Obituary of Marie Baker

Baker, Marie Dorothy (nee Tinney) (Ret'd Housekeeping Supervisor Highwayman Inn Orillia, Lifelong member of St. John's Willing Workers - Matchedash) It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Marie, surrounded by family at Leacock Care Centre, peacefully went to be with the Lord on October 3, 2013 in her 87th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Gill Baker. Loving mother of Wendy (predeceased), Dan (Bonnie), Lee (Jan), Susan Laughlin (Grant), Laurence, and Jennifer. Cherished Mamma of Brian, Jon (Jess), Chris, April (Bryan), Connie (Kevin), Jody (Neal), Bill (Angie), Tom, Alex, Kortney (Steve), and Connor. Proud Great-Grandmother of Michael, Eloise, Isaac, Devin, Jordyn, Jacob, Caleb, Hannah, Emma, and Hailey. Dear sister of 13 brothers and sisters. Survived by Cecil (Marlene), Faye, Joan, and Zona Pilon (Don). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the amazing nursing and support staff of Home Area 4 at Leacock Care Centre for the exceptional care and kindness on a daily basis but especially during her palliative care. Visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E. Orillia on Monday, October 7th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday October 8th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
