Obituary of Jean Corosky
Corosky, Jean Anne
(nee Troniak)
October 11, 1916 - October 4, 2013
Peacefully at Trillium Manor in Orillia, on Friday October 4, 2013 with family by her side. Just short of her 97th birthday, Jean joined her loving husband Stanley and her son Kenny. Cherished mother of Judith McKeown (Ken), Wayne (Joanne) and Chris (Jane) Corosky. Adored Grandmother of Blake Corosky; Greg McKeown, Andria Burnie (Dave), Kerry McKeown; Lisa Ottebratt (Leif), Ben Corosky and Emma and Gregory Corosky. Great Grandmother to Katie, Alexander, Victoria, Evyn, Reed, Kaelyn, Wilma, Ella and Ethan. Jean will also be lovingly remembered by Daughter-in-Law Dianne Olsen (Brian) and many nieces and nephews.
Jean was a strong woman who never gave up on herself, her family, or things she believed in. From early days in Winnipeg and St. Boniface, through her days in Collingwood, Gravenhurst, Niagara Falls, Ottawa and Orillia, Jean carried her charm, sense of humour, kind heart, and delicious recipes with her. Jean's family always came first - smiles and hugs for her kids, snuggles for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, warm knitted sweaters, warm words, and delicious pierogies were all part of her repertoire. She was a good teacher and also a good listener. We are all better because of her.
A funeral mass will be held at 1pm on Saturday November 2, 2013 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Gravenhurst, Ontario. A reception will follow in the church hall.
The family would like to express its gratitude to Dr. Lowry and the wonderful teams of caregivers at Trillium Manor and Champlain Manor. Donations to the Trillium Manor, Orillia Ontario in Jean's memory would be greatly appreciated.
