Attila Kollar

Obituary of Attila Kollar

On December 12th, 2011, Attila Kollar-Kosztrabszky passed away after a year long battle with ALS. Attila (known as Joe to many of his friends and neighbours), leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Maria Kollar (Bors), his daughter Tabitha Creighton (Kollar), his grandson Ajax and his son-in-law Michael. He was pre-deceased by his father, Aladar Kosztrabszky and mother, Tatiana Jarvis. Attila leaves behind a legacy of how to embrace and love all aspects of life, and to conquer and triumph over obstacles. As an artist, naturalist, entrepreneur, hunter and chef, he constantly sought new avenues for his passions and loved sharing his knowledge and experience with friends and family. He found outlets for his creativity in so many different areas of life, and imparted his love of life and enthusiasm for trying new things to his family. Recently, he began using his website to post his favourite writings and art-work and it can be found at www.attilakollar.com. His death leaves a hole in our lives, but we know he found peace, and that he would want us to live on with his love and passion in our hearts, to guide us on our own adventures in life. There will be a memorial celebration near his home in the spring to honour his memory, and the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to ALS Canada which will be received by the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St E, Orillia L3V 1L1 705-327-0221.
