Merkley: Doris Eleanor At her home, Orillia with family at her side on Monday January 20th 2014 in her 86th year. Doris Merkley (nee James) beloved wife of the late Ross Merkley. Much loved mother of Connie (Ernie Payne), Don Merkley (Liz) and Penny (Dan Stothers) all of Orillia. Loving grandmother of ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. Dear sister of Lawrence James (Marie) of Cobourg, Lydia (Jack Black) of Lindsay, Edith Porter (Louie-predeceased) of Milton and the late Roy, Ruth, Edward, William, Jeannie and Donna. Dear sister-in law of Gordon Merkley, Lloyd-predeceased (Shirley, William Merkley (Marian-predeceased), Shirley McCrea-predeceased, Gayle Creamer (Bert-predeceased), and Harvey Howe (Bonnie). Visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home- 38 James Street E. Orillia on Thursday January 23rd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the chapel on Friday January 24th at 1 p.m. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
