Born Sept., 7, 1919 passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on November 13th at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Orillia, On., surrounded by his loving family. Dear brother of Joseph Spencer (deceased) and Jenny Grudi. Beloved husband and best friend of 73 years to Margaret Spencer, née Hoolahan. Dear father of Barry (Carmen) and Bryan (Linda). Beloved grandfather to 12 grandchildren, great grandfather to 18 and a great-great grandfather to one. Harry served the Lord starting in his youth with support from his loving wife Margaret. Serving with the Salvation Army, he dedicated his life faithfully working with prisoners and the mentally and physically challenged; anyone in need. With his deep love and knowledge of scripture he was ever ready to share his great love of God. It was his passion that everyone would come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour and have assurance and hope of a heavenly home to spend eternity. Harry's favourite verse was Jeremiah 33 v.3. He is now enjoying "the great and wondrous things" that God promises. Visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James Street E. Orillia on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday November 18th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Interment Knox Cemetery Oro.
