I am so so sorry for your loss. I didn't know until my daughter-in-law Carly told me. To lose a husband is one thing, but I don't know how you can deal with the loss of a child. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. "A tiny flower, lent not given, to bud on earth and flower in heaven". Connie and Jeff, I was heartbroken to hear of the passing of sweet Jacob. In the brief time I knew him, he had such an impact on my life, and the lives of others at Safehaven. The funeral service was beautiful, heartwarming and heartbreaking all at once. I wanted to give you both a hug, but unfortunately was unable to. Still, I wanted you to know that I will always cherish the few memories that I have of Jacob, and also of you both as his parents. It was so evident how much you loved and cared for him. In his brief lifetime, Jacob truly did make the world around him a better place. I take comfort in believing that he is happy now. I hope that you are able to do the same. I offer my condolences for this truly tragic loss. I also offer my thanks, for being the kind of parents that any child would dream of having.

Connie and Jeff, please know that we are thinking of you all at this very difficult time and accept our heart sent condolences. I wonder Connie if you remember when you came to Station 2 in 2002 and we talked and I said that they always make us firefighters out to be heroes but I said that I thought the true heroes were parents like you.
