Obituary of John Faulkner
Faulkner: John Charles "Jack"
Heaven, Dust off your dancing shoes, have Glenn Miller strike up the band and get that orchestra playing some great music, because Jack Faulkner is on his way in his 101st year, Jack went off to his next adventure, reuniting with his wife Lottie, his sister, Dorothy, his best friends Tommy and Agnes and all of the gang from the cottage, for a party with lots of dancing and laughter in that big Dance Hall in the sky. The dogs will be very happy to see him again as well.
King of the Kingsway (Toronto) as an extraordinary realtor.
King of Flirting with the ladies. The gaggle of his gals are going to miss his "Hello Darling" when he greeted you.
King of Cloverdale for his daily walkabout and shopping.
King of the dance floor. Loved to dance, loved the Big Band music.
In his 101st year he saw and did a lot, a lover of a good horse race, a good dance, a glass of red wine and a good cigar!
He swore by apple cider vinegar daily to keep the blood pumping and a bout with TB while still a young man did nothing to deter him from living every single day to the fullest.
He is survived by his son John, and daughter Annalynn, as well as many pseudo daughters too numerous to mention (Jani, Marilyn, Cathie, June, Sheila Barr as well as niece Linda Heggarty who never forgot his birthday.
His greatest love was for the cottage in Orillia which he considered home. It was there he had his happiest moments and it remained his sanctuary. He loved his garden and always took such pleasure in slicing a sun ripened tomato warm from the garden and eating it. A great gardener, he loved working the soil and his gardens were envied by all who came by the cottage. So how perfect it was that during his last week he came home to the cottage and sat by the water for the afternoon with kind neighbours dropping over to say hello.
Thanks to the kind and caring manner of Dr. Barnett and Sheila, Suzie and Marie who looked after him like a dad and the kind PSW's at Leacock Care.
A send off party for Jack will be held at Hawk Ridge Golf Course in Orillia on Sunday September 27th from 1 to 3. Messages of condolence are welcomed at www.simcoefuneralhome.ca
