Doris and family May God wrap his loving arms around you and your family at this most difficult time. Wayne had a long battle but such a loving, caring (big)family were with him along the way and now he has peace. Sending love and prayers to all of you. Heather and Joe and family

"I'm ok." Those were words my brother Wayne often said. Over the years he would arrive at my home in Haliburton to '"touch base". He wanted no one to fuss over him. He was more interested in knowing how I was faring and what my three sons were up to. As spontaneously as he had arrived, he left.
Then as his diabetes dictated, those visits stopped. It was my turn to visit him. Time after time I heard him say, "I'm ok." to care givers, nurses, the dialysis team, our mom ... and to me. He appreciated what others did for him, even the little things, and a heartfelt "Thanks!" was always on his lips. Well, family and friends, my dear, eldest brother is really ok! He passed from this life to his eternal Hope and Heavenly home. 'I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing.' 2 Timothy 4:7-8
I will miss him; his caring and concern for others, his gracious acceptance of his illness, his appreciation of God's beautiful creation, music (all kinds - the louder the better), ... . It hurts and I'm not alone in this grief journey. Many others loved him and will miss him too. "I hold it true, whate're befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
Wayne is ok, for sure, and I will be too.
