At the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on Saturday, August 13th, 2011 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Blanche Black (nee Currie) of Brechin. Much loved father of Harry and his wife Joan of Sadowa, Clare and his wife Marilyn of Sebright, Laura and her husband Ray Hawthorne of Orillia, Norman of Dalrymple, Mary Alma and her partner Frank Stafford of Oakville, Ross and his wife Paulette of Orillia, Walter and his wife Margaret of Brechin, Sharon and her husband Michael Dunlop of Orillia, Donna and her partner Bob Doan of Orillia, Debbie and her husband Jim Files of Orillia and the late Carl. Loving grandfather of thirty grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren and one great-grand grandchild. Dear brother of Everett and his wife Margaret of Brechin, Mackenzie and his wife Violet of Sebright, Jean Smith of Brechin, Donald and his wife Betty of Barrie and the late Edward, Lila Eastcott, William, Mary Dunbar and Elmer. Also remembered by many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Leah Babcock and the caring staff at Oak Terrace Nursing Home.
Visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St E, Orillia on Tuesday, August 16th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, August 17th at Dalrymple United Church from 1 p.m. until time of Funeral Services at 2 p.m. Memorial donations to Dalrymple United Church would be appreciated by the family.
