To the Joblin Family; I can't believe that a year has passed already. Many times over the past year I have thought of Fred and the things that he taught me. He taught me that you are never too old to learn; that life is a gift that we have been invited to share; that learning doesn't always have to be "formal" in order to be effective; that everything in life happens for a reason. My formal learning happened in other classes but my spiritual learning and self awareness happened in Fred's religion class. He inspired me and I will always remember him for that. Please don't think he is gone because he never will be. Remembering him fondly today and always. Wanda Stamatopoulos

I was privileged to have Fred teach me the "Understanding World Religions" class in the semester that ended this past April. During this class I went through a personal trauma that I struggled to overcome. Fred proved to be an extremely important part of my choosing to continue with my education. His empathy, concern, and encouragement exemplified what this man stood for. He frequently talked about his family during class and his pride and love for them was indisputable. During class, we watched videos of Ted juggling and we knew every time Kathie was supposed to sing harmony on one of his many songs. He was passionate about his profession, his friends, and his family. He made a difference in many lives and because of this, he will never be forgotten. My sincere condolences to Fred's family and many friends. We have lost a wonderful man.

Hello Kathie. I am so saddened to hear of your loss. Fred was a great guy, always one of our favourite musicians at Laurentian@Georgian parties and meetings. I enjoyed his silly songs. He gave us a lot of much needed laughter. A gentle man, Fred's compassion was felt by students, faculty and staff at the University Partnership Centre. His presence HAS been missed, and I am sorry to hear he is gone. Much love to you and your family.

Fred was one of my first teachers when I became a student at Georgian in January 2010. From the moment he introduced himself I knew I was in for a more than interesting semester. Fred was a great teacher. He did everything he could to make the class fun and exciting from telling us stories to busting out his infamous guitar (one of the many things that made me enjoy his class so much!). When I was in Fred's class I always felt the passion he had for not just what he was teaching but for life in general. As I got to know Fred a bit better I came to realize that he wasn't just a great teacher, he was also a amazing individual. It was clear he lived life with passion and love and he wanted to share that with everyone he met. I feel extremely lucky and blessed to have known him not only as a teacher but as a fellow human being. It fills me with great sadness to know that we are now without him. I send condolences on behalf of myself as well on behalf of all of us who got to experience this amazing man. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Fred will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Fred was a great teacher! he was always enthusiastic about class, even on the very dull part of the course load. I remember coming into class feeling overly exhausted and very miserable, yet Fred with his enthusiasm and (own personal spunk and joy of life) made you feel better. We were looking forward to having him as a teacher again; he will be greatly missed. Our hearts go out to his family, know that all of you are in our prayers. Written from two of Fred's students Stefany Juric and Brennan Duquette
