Aunt Peggy, Devon, Marilyn and family It had been our plan to come to the service tomorrow but now at the last minute we find we can not make it. Fred has so many good memories of Uncle Jack and also you Aunt Peg and I have a few of my own too. We were always welcomed with love any time we visited and Fred loved to talk with Uncle Jack. He was a loving kind gentle man but also a lot of fun and we had a lot of laughs. I know you will miss him greatly but a life so well lived can not be mourned but celebrated. You will be in our hearts and minds tomorrow and in the days to come. Love Fred and Carolyn

John Warren was more than a relative to me, and became a best friend over forty years. He faced life's travails with wisdom, patience, and a wonderful sense of humour. Discussions with John were always a learning experience, whether about vintage music, classic cars, politics, or life in general. I'll greatly miss doing all the things we used to do together. Thank you for being my friend.

An excellent, excellent man who could deliver one of the all-time great laughs. I can still hear it; and, with a bit of luck, might again - one day.
In the meantime, Mr. W., if you keep an ear to the closest air register, you're bound to hear your loving family and friends swapping some entertaining stories with you in a starring role.
As they should be, right?
As you taught me, TEMPUS, indeed, FEW-JITS.
With love and many happy memories,
Herc

Grandpa used to say that I was his favorite Granddaughter, I would always giggle because I was his only Granddaughter. So many stories, memories and laughs that there would not be enough space to include them all. Grandpa's skills in French always made me laugh. Whenever I see the game 'Sorry' or Flocons Givres I always smile :) I became a Leaf's fan because of Grandpa. I am very sad to say good bye Grandpa but I am so very blessed that you were in my life. You will be forever in our hearts ♥

Dear Peggy, Marilyn, Devon and family and friends. The loss of a partner and parent are deep and sad but the memories far surpass this sadness. We are sad for you and hold you all in our hearts and wish you well.

In 1974 I met a man that would influence my life. I didn't know it then as I was just a new born baby but John Warren would be a cherished part of my life, he was my Grandfather. My Grandfather meant the world to me, he was bigger than life, he was so tall and had hands so big that it my my childish fingers seem so small. I would try on his ring and even on my thumb as a teenager it would just slide right off. He was kind, generous and funny and always made me laugh. I can remember bouncing on his knee, playing the board game "Sorry" and sharing a good laugh. I promise to carry on the tradition of telling people "I'm shaaaaaaving" and "No thanks, I just had a haircut". My Grandfather was a good man and I am feeling very sad today, not because he has passed away but because more people didn't have a chance to know him. - David Pratt

On September 8, 2011 the world lost a little bit of charm, class and cheekiness. Mr. John Warren had all of these qualities and more. I will remember him most for his zing-worthy one liners at the dinner table, his love of Toronto sports teams and his love for his family.
I'm thankful that I had the chance to know such a great man and to be a part of his family.
