Susan and I send our condolences and prayers at this time upon hearing of Stephen's death. I appreciated his wisdom and presence as a chaplain at a weekend event some time ago as candidates for ministry went through an assessment process that I had organized. Susan speaks well of Stephen, remembering him when Joan was the priest at St. Stephen's, Current River (Thunder Bay), the church her parents attended. When we visited Thunder Bay, Stephen and Joan always warmly welcomed us. Joan, may God's grace uphold you in this time of sorrow and may the mystery of the Easter message bring a certain peace that passes all understanding.
