Obituary of Gerry Shelswell

Shelswell, Matthew Gerald “Gerry” Peacefully passed away at the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Wednesday September 28th 2016 in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Vivian Mae Shelswell (nee VanValkenberg)of 65 years. Loving father of Rodney (Bonnie), Brian, Matthew (Heather), and Karen Murray (Derek). Cherished grandfather of Caleb, Ashley, Megan, Sarah, Keegan; great grandfather of Angelina, Claressa, Grayson, Liam, and Caiden. Dear brother of Doreen Godfrey (late Mervin), the late Harold (Betty), and Wayne (Pam). Gerry will be lovingly remembered by many family and friends. He will be missed by his faithful companion Daisy. A memorial service will be held at the Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle, 375 Westmount Drive N. Orillia on Saturday October 22nd, at 2:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Gideon Bible Memorial Plan through the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St. E. Orillia.
