Mike and I send our Deepest Sympathy to Ken, Carole, Kendall, Brandon, Ted and the family.
I was truly saddened when I received the news of the sudden passing of Pat - Carole's Mom. I need to say that I was honored to have so many wonderful memories of my times spent with Pat and the family celebrating holidays and milestone events. I have memories that go back even back farther then the digital camera goes - rest assured I do have all the special occasions in my memory and I cherish each and every one of them.
When going through my years and years of pictures one thing is so prevalent - Pat always has a great big smile. She was so happy to spend time with the family and of course the animals in the house. She was a huge animal lover - which to me shows what a huge warm and thoughtful heart she has. She was such a kind and caring lady - a lady indeed - always dressed so nicely. I will always see her in my mind smiling warmly.
Carole has been my best friend since 1995. We went through so much together and because we are so close, I was able to really become part of the family. Pat was always so loving and kind to me. She treated me like a daughter and I was so lucky to have her in my life. I know how much she cared for me and truly the feeling is mutual.
Pat will be missed but she will never be forgotten. I definitely have a very special place for her in my heart. I am sure Pat will shine down through the sunshine on earth, and she is an angel up in heaven.
Sending my all my love. Suz

Dear Mr. Bratten, Carole and family, I was very sad to hear of Mrs. Bratten's recent passing. I remember babysitting the girls quite well. I was the babysitter for most of Sedgemount in those days and I preferred your family, as your girls were the best behaved. I remembered there was always plenty of Dole treats as well. My Dad passed away in 1984. My mom lived alone at Sedgemount until her mid 80s. She moved to a retirement home in Markham, and lived on her own until she reached 90. She passed away 3 years ago just a few weeks before her 95 birthday. I still keep in touch with the Wellings kids.(NOT KIDS ANYMORE)
I moved back to the area in 1990. I live off of Belllamy, south of Lawrence. MY house backs onto the ravine. I remember my mom would pack us a lunch and we would explore the creek for hours. Funny that my own children grew up exploring these same woods, although I was always with them. Times had sure changed. I have a 29 year old son and twin 27 year old girls. No grandkids yet unfortunately. My sister Glenda, brothers Ray and Ron are all well.
I hope I haven't rambled on, but I wanted to let you know I was thinking of you and your family. My husband is away in Florida golfing, but I will try to make the funeral Tuesday.
Sincerely, Debra Lalonde McEwen

Ken, I am so sorry for your loss. Pat was a second mother to me and I miss her so much. She will forever be remembered for the things that she loved to do as well as for the love that she spread to others through her kind gestures. While she may not be with us physically today, her gentle spirit will remain in our hearts forever. Do not hesitate to let me know if there is anything you need. My prayers are with you.
