Carter, Wilma Marguerite Isobel (nee Stockdale) June 13, 1936 – October 28, 2016
Peacefully passed, surrounded by the love of her family at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket. She was the beloved wife of Ivan Carter of Severn Township for over 61 years and loving mother of Ann Carter (husband John Jaworski) Larry Carter (partner Donna Godfrey), Brenda Carter (husband Jim O’Sullivan), Linda (Carter) Kuchmij (husband Bohdan), Karen Carter (husband Terry Walker), Tracey Carter (husband Steve Stayen) and Glen Carter (wife Angelica). Cherished grandmother of Jordan Jermey (wife Laura), Eryn (Jermey) Spetter (husband Matthew), Kyle Walters (wife Laura), Garrett Walters (wife Sarah), Ben Walters (wife Heather), John Whitney, Jake Whitney, Jared Whitney, Aleksandr Kuchmij, Nikolas Kuchmij, Justin Hodgkinson (wife Mandy), Lauren (Hodgkinson) Tanner (husband Trevor), Reece Stayen, Amber Stroop, Miranda Carter and Richard Carter. Great-grandmother of Etta and Posy Hodgkinson, William and Taylor Walters, Jude Tanner and Dexter Jermey. Dear sister-in-law of Doreen Walker (husband Bruce). She was predeceased by her parents, William and Stella Stockdale, brothers Ken and Harvey Stockdale and sisters-in-law, Mary and Dell. Sincere thanks are extended to Dr. Sangster, nurse Craig of ICU and the staff of Soldier’s 1, OSMH for their caring support of Wilma and her family. Wilma’s kind and gentle presence will be missed by her large extended family and many friends. Wilma spent her entire life on her family farm in Severn Township and dedicated herself, through her many volunteer years as an active member of the Federated Women’s Institutes of Ontario to supporting a healthy and strong community. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Wilma’s life on Sunday November 27 between 2 and 4 pm at the Severn Bridge Community Hall at 1035 Southwood Rd. Severn Bridge.
