There are some people that come into your life and leave, some soon, some after many years or decades. All are reflected on, some more so than others. Mary Ellen touched my life. I was just her mailman, but i watched her age over a 20 year period. So active and full of life. Always a story and a smile. She missed her husband, always a story about Grant did this or Grant said that. Through the ups and downs of her health she still smiled. Towards my retirement over 6 years ago I would open the door and place the mail on a table for her to make it easier for her, and we would chat frequently. In the Summer I wore a Tilley hat and she kept asking me for it, so on the day I retired we had a big hug and I gave her the hat. I dropped in and visited her frequently...One of only 3 people that I bothered to keep in touch with. I thought of her often and always will. RIP my friend.

A truer obituary, I don't think I've ever read!!!! Orillia, Ontario, Canada the World, for that matter, is a now a lesser place without the likes of Mary Ellen Day. To the Day family, Hold tight to her out look on living, because that what she did. SHE LIVED and LIVED TO THE FULLEST !!! I'm so glad to have had the chance to know her for just the last 15 - 20 years, If you were one of the fortunate to have known her for longer, then you have been truly blessed.

Dear Brad and Jeff and families: We wish to express our sincere sympathy. Loosing a mother, is hard, but remember all of the special memories that you have both had with her and your dad. May it help to know that old friends care and remember during this sad time. Sincerely Ruth (Gilbert) and Kevin

So very sorry to hear that your mother has passed Brad. She was very fortunate to have you so close by and to help her stay in her own home until so close to the end. Our thoughts are with you, Lisa and your children.
