I met Rita in the 70's when I joined Oro Horticultural Society (now Oro-Medonte Hort.) She was a great help in getting you involved with Flower Arranging. She gave me a small vase when she was leaving Hort. She had it made special only 1 1/4" high.. It was made for miniature design. A design that is only 5" total. The trophy was the Sylvia Ward Award. I have used it for many years and my name is on the trophy many times. I spoke to her at our 50th Anniversary this past year. She was a great lady.

Heaven will be beautifully decorated as the Oro Horticultural Society is holding meeting for sure !! What an era of great ladies that never stopped. Always on the go and doing something !! Your Mom lived her life to it fullest. Such a gentle person and had such personal strength to find peace with her sadness throughout her life. These ladies never stopped learning or evolving with their families and community. You will miss your Mom but she has given so much to you by her example. Such a lovely wonderful person . My Best to your family.

Reta was a long-time, dear friend of Berit and they had many happy times together on trips in their younger years as well as at Women’s Institute events, Horticulture functions, etc. Surprisingly, Berit had a dream about Reta the night before she was told Reta had passed away.
Berit & daughter Susan enjoyed seeing Reta at her birthday party last January - that was a very special time. Reta was always one to seize the day. Reta meant a lot to our family and the community.
Condolences from Berit, Susan & Wanda McArthur.
