Obituary of Daisy Leith Shakell
Shakell, Daisy Leith (nee Reid)
Daisy and her beloved husband Alfred are the former owners of Orillia Electric Motor Service, Shakell Refrigeration, Fireplace Central and Shakell Heating and Cooling in Orillia
Born in Saskatchewan Nov 1, 1925, Daisy was the eldest daughter to Robert and Reita Reid. Her family moved to Ontario during the War to seek work in Fort Erie. At the age of 15 Daisy began to work as a riveter on the Lancaster Bomber, after the war Daisy and her family relocated to Orillia where she worked at Porcelain and Metal.
Daisy left peacefully at home, and is now with her first love, Jesus, and has rejoined Alfred in their heavenly mansion.
Mother of her much-loved children Donald, Dale, Barbara, Douglas and Darren Shakell. Proud grandmother of many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She will be missed by her morning tea and apple cake buddy Brian Papirny.
Before Daisy moved to Heaven she recorded two videos where she expressed her deepest and only desire in life; that her children and her children’s children and any future generations would know Jesus as their Saviour and would love and serve Him. She believed with her last breath that the Word of God promises, that He would give her the desires of her heart that her entire household would receive salvation. Daisy is also looking forward to celebrating with her many business acquaintances, friends, and extended family in heaven.
Daisy would like to thank Dr. Tillmann and the kind PSW’s who cared and loved her.
Daisy is now enjoying being with Jesus and having Alfred at her side once again.
Daisy leaves you with one request, that each of you consider accepting Jesus as your personal friend and Saviour.
