Dear Sheila, Stuart, Gregg and Andrew and family.
I sit here, just learned of the passing and can only remember How Hugh was a great father not only to his own kids but to me as well. He was a man of strength and integrity and always had his hand reaching out and treated me like I was his family. A memory I have cherished. He was a good man. I still to this day wonder what was on his mind when he bought the Pinto but everytime I see one anywhere I think of him.
God bless him and the family
Little David

On behalf of the entire Ontario Model Soldier Society, please accept our deepest condolences on this tragic loss. Hugh cast a giant shadow in the history of the club and was a highly respected painter, expert modeler and Past President. He helped, taught and befriended so many. I was privileged to attend several of the painting courses he taught and learned much from him. Later I relieved him as editor of the club magazine which he had produced for many years, and I could only hope to equal his quality. His laughter was rare but when you heard it, you knew it was genuine. One of the finest gentlemen I have ever met, he has been, and will continue to be greatly missed.

Shelia ... condolences to you and your family on the passing of Hugh. Always enjoyed working with at Kodak and talking to him and enjoying his sense of humour once he moved to Orillia. Great that you will be able to rely on the family and enjoy the good memories of Hugh.

So very sorry to hear of Hugh's passing. I met Hugh, while working as a volunteer at Leacock. His sense of humour, quick wit, contagious smile, and genuine compassion for others quickly endeared him to all residents, staff and volunteers. Hugh was truly loved by all and he will be dearly missed.
Deepest condolences to his family.
