When I was 8 or 9, I was spending a couple weeks with my Gramma and Grampa up at their place in Washago. My Gramma organized a card-board boat race for all the kids in the neighbourhood, and I remember we went around Orillia going to furniture stores and asking them for big pieces of cardboard from their recycling bins to use as materials for the boats.
My Gramma was a lot of fun. She loved having my brother and I and our cousins come stay with her.
I remember the year of the rolling brown-outs, we didn't have water at the house and one day it rained really heavily, and Gramma sent me outside with a bar of soap and told me to take a shower.
One year we went up for March Break and Gramma took us snow-tubing, and we made snow-men and Gramma filled windex bottles with water and food-colouring so we could spray them with fun colours.
My Gramma was beautiful, and funny, and the best Gramma anyone could ask for, and I have the best memories of being a kid and having fun with her, and getting to see how in love she and my Grampa were.
Thanks, Gramma. I love you

Doug, Sandi, Conni and Craig, I am so saddened by the passing of Kathy. Kathy befriended me over 30 years ago and treated my girls like her own grand kids. Taught me how to cook some delicious casseroles, even with turnip. She introduced me (and Doug did too) to my hubby Randy, and I am forever grateful. My memories of you 3 kids are at the Black river, bbq's and alot of fun times. I am so sorry for your loss, as she had the biggest heart of anyone I ever knew. Until we see each other again, rest in peace Kath!

Thank you so much Debbie & Randy! There were a lot of fun times there. Mom was queen of casseroles ... even if you THOUGHT you hated turnip, Mom's recipe made you love it. I have fond memories of time spent with you both
Her kind heart will be missed.
Thank you, Conni
