I remember the day that my brother pulled the china cabinet over and broke my mother's dishes, as my Mom took him to the hospital you mother came over and cleaned up for her and helped her get dinner ready for her house guests, also, how they always had their hair done on the same day, they started out on a Monday and finally got worked up to a Friday morning appointment, they thought they had died and gone to heaven, I believe they talked almost every day back in those earlier days of their friendship, and Mom so enjoyed her time when she went to visit your Mom and Dad in England. They had so much fun. I also remember how happy they were with their last visit, Reta Yake was there as well, I don't think the three of them stopped talking for a moment

Dear Mr. Campey, John and Stephen I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I have such wonderful memories of Mrs. Campey. As a young girl, she once gave me one of her cameo brooches. I still have it in my jewellery box today and when I see it I think of your wife & mom with such fondness. She was truly a positive influence in our early years and enriched our lives in many ways. It was so good to visit together when you made the trip just over 3 weeks ago to support us in the loss of our mom and to remember together the very special friendship that mom and Mrs. Campey had. They have gone ahead of us but we will be reunited. Please be assured that we will be remembering and praying for each of you. God bless, Marion

Betty was an incredibly warm and hospitable person. Whether I turned up on the doorstep in England or in Canada, I knew I would be welcome, that there would be a bed for the night if necessary, and home-baked goodies to savour. Mr. Campey, John and Stephen: My heart goes out to all of you on the loss of Mrs. C. I have so many fond memories of your family and visiting your home. From learning to love "Coronation Street", admiring her spoon rack and her little broom and dustpan for cleaning the tablecloth between courses - all wonderful things in the eyes of a young girl!
