Obituary of Murray Thompson

Thompson: Murray Edward Past President of Toronto Star's Quarter Century Club and 43 year employee. Peacefully at his home in Bayshore Village, Brechin, Ontario, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, February 1st, 2011 in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Margo Thompson (nee Neil). Much loved father of Glenn and his wife Kathy of Innisfil, Karen and her husband John Rao of Oakville and Sherry McMahon of Burlington. Loving grandfather of Michelle, Lindsay, Amber, Matthew, and Connor. Son of the late Walter and Edith Thompson and dear brother of the late Albert Thompson. Murray's passion was flying and he held a Private Pilot's licence for more than 50 years. In his retirement he and Margo travelled extensively, and enjoyed golfing, boating and winters in Florida. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St E, Orillia on Sunday, February 6th from 12:00 p.m. until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
