Sorry for your loss
Shirley loved her family....she always spoke lovingly and proudly of everyone. I can say I never heard Shirley say a negative word about anything or anyone.
She took me on a drive past Washago to see deer, her gas gauge was near zero so she stopped for gas and there we counted 12 deer cross the road. She was so pleased... "Good Show" she said. I found out later that if she hadn't stopped for gas we would have ran out near the terrorist camp they found near Washago a few years ago.
I think Shirley would have known how to deal with them also.
She loved Moose and Bear and I think she could have written an interesting book because she was an interesting lady.
I liked her. Gloria and Richard

Dear Debbie and Leslie,
I had the privilege of visiting your mother each week in the nursing home. (I think we met one day Debbie)
She was a wonderful person and we enjoyed our "tea parties" together when they brought it in during those visits. She told me so many things about living in the north and about her baseball days. She was so terribly proud of her family and in the later visits I would describe beautiful little "Mr Blue Eyes" to her .I believe she got to see him not so long ago and she talked about how happy she was... Her room was so filled with memories and she would tell all about the pictures and the little model Log Cabin house. Even when she could no longer communicate with me I would come into her room and sit on her little stool and be glad when she was sleeping peacefully. I offer my deepest condolences to all of you. I will miss her and will remember what a very special lady she was.
fond regards Pat............

At a time like this there aren't the right words. You know how I feel about your mom. I spent nearly as much time at your home as I did my own when we were growing up.
Your mom was always one step ahead of us in any mischief we were going to get into. (She probably did it first anyway) . She always had a good sense of humour and a great smile and was a very strong independent lady. She would be very proud of you girls and all you have accomplished and the care you have given her. Shirley will always have a corner of my heart.
Love to you all Betty
